Mike Ponder, acclaimed artist and author, has lived in Marlborough for over 40 years.
The Windsor Conspiracy, Mike's first novel, was published by Random House in 2007. Its international success led to a Hungarian translation a year later and the initiation of the 'Conspiracy' series. Its explosive sequel Four Kings was published in 2012. Published in 2020, For Queen and Empire was Mike’s third novel in the series. His latest novel, For Queen and Empire, is set in France in the 1940s. Is the Queen lying? How many innocent people will have to die to protect her secret? Mike has also published three best-selling books on his art: Textured Colour, My Way – A Touch of Red, and Oil on Canvas. |
Among his many accomplishments Mike was the pioneer of New Zealand’s olive industry. In 1998 he wrote The Good Oil – Growing Olives in New Zealand. With sales reaching 30,000, this book is undeniably the bible for any would-be olive growers.
Mike is married to Di. They have two daughters and four grandchildren.
