Trish shares her working time between farming in the Top of the South and writing. She enjoys producing work which causes folk to smile or makes them thoughtful, and she’s not afraid to tackle tougher contemporary social topics.
Her non-fiction book Knock Knock: Confessions of a Kiwi Interviewer was published in 2021 by Upstart Press. 2019 saw her first play Sarah-Jane produced, exploring society’s reaction to the relationship between a young girl and an elderly man, covering issues around adoption and loss. Garin College students used Sarah-Jane for NCEA exams. Two comedy plays Where There’s a Will and Housewifely Duties have met with success in France and on YouTube, with Housewifely Duties also short-listed for the Short and Sweet Festivals Sydney and Dubai. Her drama Paying for Life was produced in Europe in 2022. |
Trish's The Suitcase was long-listed in the 2019 Flash Fiction Short Short Competition, while With All My Heart won first prize in the NZSA Northland Branch 2021 Short Story Competition.
Trish has also extensively researched her family history, with some branches documented back to circa 950. In 2018 she completed the Diploma in Creative Writing from NMIT.
